Review of Jergens ‘Natural Glow’

Image

I have naturally pale skin and, I’ve been looking for a gradual self-tanner for so long, and after reading many positive reviews, I purchased the Jergens ‘Natural Glow’ in Ross for only $3.99!

The tan itself is great! It goes on so easily, and because it’s gradual, it’s very easy to control how dark your skin turns. When you apply the tan, it has a slight shimmery effect, which I was slightly worried about as even though it was only a small amount, I didn’t want to look like I had glitter all over me! But luckily, the shimmery effect wasn’t there when the tan dried. The tan itself has a scent but it isn’t unpleasant at all. It dries into a natural looking tan, which I love as that was exactly what I had been looking for, a natural looking tan!

Altogether, I am delighted with this product, and will be using it a lot, especially during the winter months!

Review of Real Techniques ‘Expert Face’ brush

Before purchasing the ‘Expert Face’ brush, I had heard so many great reviews about it! I have used sponges and regular foundation brushes to blend my M.A.C. foundation, and I thought I was happy using those, that was until I bought this AMAZING make-up brush.

Firstly, this brush was designed by Samantha Chapman, a professional make-up artist and beauty blogger. There are many tutorials on how to use this brush online which I find helpful.

The brush itself is not pricey at all. I purchased mine at Ulta for around $9. The brush has an orange handle, and the shape of the handle makes the brush fit perfectly in your hand. The brush hairs are soft, but dense, which means you are able to really buff the foundation into your skin for a flawless finish. I found flat foundation brushes difficult to use around my nose, but this brush blends extremely well all over my face. This brush also washes very easily (I just use baby shampoo!). I also use this brush to blend my bronzer under my cheekbones!

I would definitely recommend this brush to anyone who is looking for a foundation brush that blends amazingly and isn’t expensive at all. Definitely a 10/10 product for me!

A trend I’m loving…

The high-low trend

You’ve all seen so many many celebrities rocking either a high-low skirt or dress at some point or another. I recently purchased a pink, high-low skirt (pictured below!), from Tj Maxx, for only $6.99! This is my first high-low skirt or dress I have purchased, and I must admit… I have become OBSESSED! Like many other people, I like to pair my high-low skirt with a basic, white, cropped top. My favourite crop tops are the ‘Giselle top’ from Brandy Melville and the Forever 21 cropped top (pictured below!).  I think it is a very classy outfit and can be dressed up or dressed down by the addition of a jacket. A blazer would definitely dress this look up, and a slouchy cardigan would make this look more casual!

Bargain of the year!

Recently, I went shopping at Nordstrom Rack, which, if you don’t know is a huge store where Nordstrom sell their last season stock at a cheaper price. You can find literally anything in their from O.P.I nail polishes, to Jimmy  Choo shoes (yes! I did find a pair of Jimmy Choos when I was their, and yes I was tempted, but  I didn’t buy them!). My best ‘find’ in Nordstrom Rack had to be my leather, Steve Madden, studded boots, as not only were they exactly what i was looking for, they were on clearance for only $19!!! I was so happy when I found them! I definitely recommend visiting Nordstrom Rack if you are looking for a designer item that hasn’t been just released!

Do any of you have a fabulous find from Nordstrom Rack too? If so, comment down below!

The Comfy Cardigan

Summer is here, which means wearing shorts, skirts and summer dresses! So you may be wondering why I am posting about cardigans in summertime, but I am doing so as I feel a slouchy cardigan is a key summer must have. An oversized cardigan is a perfect cover-up for travelling to and from the beach, it is also a necessity for those cool summer evenings! I have noticed many people following the oversized cardigan trend, and I think it is one of those items you can spend a little extra cash on, as it can be used all year round! I purchased my Brandy Melville ‘Moselle’ sweater for $59, and although this is quite expensive, I feel it is really unique and is something that I will be wearing all of the time. x

The Clarisonic Mia

The other day I purchased a Clarisonic Mia. I have heard so many positive things about Clarisonics so I decided to treat myself and purchase one. This post is really a first impression of the Clarisonic, a proper review will come after I have used it for a while. A Clarisonic is a ‘sonic cleansing system’ that is meant to clean your skin much better than your hands do.  Before purchasing the Clarisonic, I had heard that your skin glows after using it. After using the Clarisonic for the first time, I found out how true this is, my skin was literally glowing! I have some acne on my face so I bought the Clarisonic to help get rid of it. After using the Clarisonic, my skin felt very soft and clean. I have noticed my skin already breaking out, which is a good sign, as it shows that the Clarisonic is really clearing out my pores and bringing the dirt to the surface causing my skin to break out. Hopefully this will last only a week or so! I hope that the Clarisonic clears my acne, I will keep you posted on my opinion of the Clarisonic over the next few months!

Packing for vacation tips…

Image

Hey! I’m sure many of you will be traveling abroad at some point this summer, so I have decided to do a blog post all about my tips and tricks for packing, and what I like to bring with me when I travel abroad!

When it comes to outfits, I like to bring clothes that I can mix and match therefore creating more outfits. For example if you bring two tops and two skirts, make sure they can all be mixed and matched therefore you have four different outfits! Also remember when you are on packing make sure you take the weather conditions into account, you don’t want to be stuck in shorts in cold weather!

For airplane outfits, comfort is key! Although your favourite pair of skinny jeans may look gorgeous, would you really want to be sitting in them for hours?  No! So instead of wearing a fashionable outfit, go for a comfortable tracksuit instead!

As for what to bring with you when you’re on board the plane, I try to bring items to keep me occupied whilst I’m on board! Airlines allow you to bring two pieces of carry on luggage, a larger bag or small suitcase to be put in the overhead bins, and a small backpack or handbag!

Personally I like to bring a small suitcase and my Lonchamp ‘Le Pliage’ bag (pictured above!) onboard. One of my main tips for when packing your larger onboard bag is to include one of your outfits for your trip, just in case your suitcase goes missing! I usually put things like clothes and pjs in my larger case. In my small bag I put all of my necessities which consist of lip balm, headphones, magazines, sweets, water, my phone, iPod, and a book!

Next post will be coming soon! xxx
